Does a person have free will?
Do we choose our own path, or is every decision already shaped by the past? At Club32, we invite you to set everyday tasks aside for a moment and reflect on free will. How do we reconcile our sense of choice with a world governed by laws beyond our control?
In this article, we explore a philosophical view of freedom through an awareness of limitations and cause and effect. Read on to reflect on your own decisions and discover how these ideas take an unexpected turn towards caring for your smile.
Free will: illusion or conscious choice
This world is ruled by laws. Not the ones written by people, but the real ones. The kind that simply cannot be broken.
These are the laws of nature.
First of all - physics and the law of cause and effect.
Our bodies, including the brain, function according to physical laws. That means our thoughts, which on the molecular level are simply changes in the state of nerve cells, are formed in strict accordance with these laws.
And what is happening to you right now is nothing other than the result of your previous actions.
As you can see, there seems to be no room for any kind of freedom here. Everything is determined by formulas and the past.
Psychoanalysts will also tell you that freedom does not exist.
However, the position of yogis is more interesting. They claim that freedom is the awareness of limitations, that is, of these very laws.
In practice, this means that a person should build their life strategy based precisely on these unbreakable laws.
Then the goal will be achieved by the shortest path and with minimal effort.
Because the laws will do all the work for you.
And all that will remain for you is to admire the sunset and enjoy the singing of birds.
The question is - what exactly are these laws?
Those who know the full answer usually end up founding their own religions.
We, however, advise you to carefully analyze your own life and formulate them for yourself.
It is not that difficult.
And we will share one such law.
If you visit preventive check-ups and professional cleanings twice a year, you will not have problems with your teeth.
