Motivation and focus in learning
How to maintain motivation while studying
Motivation
The first rule of healthy motivation is getting enough sleep.
The second is that you should be interested in the learning process itself, not in the reward for its result.
We do everything for a reward. And that is okay. You just need to learn how to get the real reward - dopamine, which stimulates the zone of positive emotions - from the learning process itself. Then everything will work out.
Here is the proof. Once, in kindergarten, a group of children who loved drawing and did it simply because they wanted to were rewarded for their drawings. After some time, the rewards were stopped. It turned out that the children’s desire to draw decreased significantly. This proves that shifting the reward from the process to the result reduces motivation for the action itself.
That is why you should study in order to be able to do something, not in order to sell that skill later.
Focus
In nature, focus is always associated with stress and danger, that is, with adrenaline and epinephrine. If we need to artificially bring ourselves into this state, we can take a cool shower or make a cold foot bath. As for the water temperature, it is enough for you to feel slight discomfort.
Neurophysiologists also recommend listening to binaural beats before studying in order to improve concentration. This stimulates the prefrontal cortex and helps release the acetylcholine and dopamine needed for concentration.
Apps with binaural beats, both paid and free, are available for both operating systems.
You can also listen to white, pink, or brown noise.
They are available on YouTube.
Listen for 5 minutes before studying and then go ahead.
Learn from others, and do not neglect your own.
