Complete removable prosthetics

Complete removable prosthetics are used when it is necessary to restore the entire dentition on the upper or lower jaw. Modern full dentures are made individually, taking into account anatomical features, the condition of the mucous membrane, and muscle activity. Thanks to this, they provide the most secure fit, comfort, and a natural appearance, including helping to restore lip volume.
Our orthopedists carefully plan each option and stage of treatment so that the patient receives a stable and aesthetic result in everyday life.

Complete removable dentures. Affordable convenience

Due to its affordability, complete removable dentures remain one of the most popular methods of restoring the dentition in cases of complete edentulism.

A complete removable denture is an orthopedic structure designed to restore lost teeth on one or both jaws. It is made of acrylic, nylon, or other biocompatible materials and rests on the mucous membrane and alveolar processes. Such a prosthesis allows you to restore chewing and speech functions and improve the appearance of the face. Special creams or mini-implants can be used to increase the reliability of fixation.

The orthopedists at Club 32, a family dental clinic in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, have many successful cases of complete removable dentures for patients of all ages in their portfolio.

We practice an individual approach to prosthetics – we develop a unique treatment plan for each patient, allowing us to install dental prostheses taking into account their characteristics, wishes, and at an affordable cost.

As a result, you get affordable treatment, long-lasting results, and maximum comfort during all dental procedures. In addition, you can pay for prosthetics in installments and without overpaying.

We also offer elderly patients the opportunity to significantly improve their quality of life by installing removable dentures on implants that they are accustomed to. This type of attachment will ensure reliable fixation and make the dentures more convenient and comfortable for everyday use.

Types of full removable dentures

Acrylic

The most common type. They are affordable, easy to manufacture, and simple to adjust.

Nylon

More flexible and comfortable to wear, they are less prone to breakage and cause less discomfort during adaptation.

Metal-ceramic

This type of prosthesis with a reinforcing frame is characterized by increased strength and durability, which is especially important for patients with an active lifestyle.

The price of a complete removable denture depends on the material used, the complexity of the work, and additional options.

Club 32 orthopedists offer both affordable acrylic models and premium nylon designs. During the consultation, the doctor will help you choose the optimal design that is right for you.

Indications for the installation of a full removable denture

The main indication is complete tooth loss on one or both jaws. Other indications include severe periodontal disease, trauma, and anatomical features of bone tissue that prevent implantation. Such prostheses are also recommended for elderly patients who need to restore chewing and speech function without complex surgical interventions. Prosthetics can significantly improve the quality of life for people of any age.

Stages of manufacturing a complete removable prosthesis

In the first stage, the orthopedic doctor conducts a diagnosis and takes impressions of the jaws. Then, an individual model is created in the laboratory, after which the design is fitted and corrected. Only after this is the prosthesis finally installed.

Advantages and disadvantages of complete removable dentures

Advantages:

  • affordable price
  • restoration of aesthetics and chewing function
  • Quick adaptation
  • minimal tissue trauma (allows you to quickly return to a full life without the need for serious surgical intervention)

In addition, if necessary, the prosthesis can be easily adjusted or replaced. Full removable dentures are the best choice for people who value speed of restoration of the dentition and affordable price.

Disadvantages:

  • need for regular care
  • Possible minor discomfort during the adjustment period

Fixation and stabilization of full removable dentures

The denture can be fixed in place using a vacuum effect, fixing creams, or additional mini-implants.

A complete removable denture for the upper jaw is easier to fix due to the anatomy of the palate. It is held in place not only by its precise fit to the mucous membrane, but also by the suction effect—the vacuum between the denture and the hard palate, especially if the surface is well polished and carefully made according to an individual impression. The height of the alveolar ridge and the quality of the mucous membrane also play an important role: the better they are, the more stable the fixation. In some cases, special adhesive gels and creams are used for additional retention, but with a properly made denture, they are rarely needed.

A full removable denture for the lower jaw often needs additional stabilization. This is because the lower jaw is mobile and has less contact area with the denture. In addition, it is more complex anatomically: a mobile tongue, active cheek and lip muscles—all of these can push the denture out.

The following methods are used to improve its fixation:

  • Functional impression — allows you to accurately replicate the movement of soft tissues and create a prosthesis that will not shift during chewing and talking
  • Anatomical modeling of the prosthesis — taking into account the sublingual area, cheek fold, and retromolar triangle
  • Use of fixatives — special creams, gels, or powders that increase the adhesion between the prosthesis and the mucous membrane
  • Implants (supporting structures) — installation of 2–4 implants in the front section of the lower jaw, followed by attachment of the prosthesis to them using bar or button (attachment) systems. This ensures maximum stability, comfort, and confidence when eating

Thus, in cases of complete edentulism (absence of all teeth), the upper and lower jaws require different approaches to prosthesis fixation, and the correct choice of method significantly affects the comfort of wearing and the patient's quality of life.

Club 32 orthopedists use proven fixation methods that ensure maximum comfort and confidence when wearing dentures.

What care does a completely removable denture require?

A full removable denture requires careful daily care: cleaning with special brushes and pastes, rinsing with water after eating, and storing in a disinfectant solution overnight. Failure to follow the care instructions can lead to deformation of the structure and inflammatory processes. It is also important to visit the dentist regularly for preventive examinations and timely correction of the dentures.

Mistakes in caring for full removable dentures

The most common mistakes are: using abrasive cleaning agents, overdrying the structure, wearing the dentures around the clock.

Following all the recommendations of our specialists will extend the life of your dentures and help you avoid unpleasant complications.

Adapting to full removable dentures

Adaptation takes from a few days to several weeks. It is important to wear the dentures regularly, practice pronunciation, and start eating soft foods. If discomfort occurs, you should immediately consult your doctor for correction. Our specialists always support patients during this period and help them get used to the new structure more quickly.

We offer the best solutions for complete removable dentures, take all your wishes into account, and provide high-quality support at all stages of treatment.
