Ceramic Veneers - The Path to a Perfect Smile
Modern dentistry offers a wide range of options for cosmetic dental transformation. One of the most popular and consistently in-demand solutions is ceramic veneers. Placing them on your teeth not only ensures a flawlessly white smile for years to come. It also makes it possible to completely change the appearance of your teeth and fully realize your vision for the aesthetics of your smile. Additionally, veneers can serve as a form of dental treatment. In such cases, the patient simultaneously resolves a clinical issue and improves the appearance of their teeth.
The doctors at “Club 32” - a family dental clinic in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv - have a portfolio of numerous successful cases involving the installation of turnkey ceramic veneers for patients of all ages.
We offer reasonable prices, a personalized approach to each patient, warm service, and a treatment plan that fully aligns with your clinical situation and preferences. This ensures maximum comfort during treatment and long-lasting results.
What are ceramic veneers?
These are ultra-thin plates made of dental ceramic that are bonded to the front surface of the tooth. They mimic natural enamel, creating the effect of a perfectly beautiful smile - often referred to as a “Hollywood smile.” Indeed, veneers have long been a “must-have” for anyone in the public eye.
Thanks to innovative laser sintering technologies, ceramic veneers look just like natural teeth - only better. They are strong and durable, maintaining a flawless appearance for decades. It is worth noting that ceramic veneers are more expensive than their composite counterparts, but considering the short lifespan of composite veneers and the need for regular polishing, choosing ceramic veneers may ultimately prove to be more cost-effective.
The procedure for installing ceramic veneers and the features of the “Club 32” veneer trial
To ensure you get exactly the smile you’ve always dreamed of, we at “Club 32” have refined the standard veneer placement process. It now includes a new, important step - a preliminary fitting, a sort of “test drive” of your future smile.
This step helps eliminate any potential differences in the understanding of the aesthetics of the ideal smile between the patient and the veneer maker (dental technician). Additionally, it allows the patient to actively participate in the process of shaping their future teeth.
How does this work?
First, we take impressions of your teeth in their original state - before any preparation. These models are sent to the laboratory, where they are scanned. In some cases, the teeth are scanned directly at the clinic, and the finished digital model is sent to the lab. Using this model, the dental technician tries on different veneer shapes from a standard template library. After that, we receive images showing the proposed options.
Next, our prosthodontist uses the Digital Smile Design system to overlay the visualizations onto the patient’s photos so that the patient can see what each of the proposed options will look like.
We print the model selected by the patient on a 3D printer. We then take an impression of it and pour in a special plastic, which is typically used to make temporary crowns. The resulting crowns are fitted onto the patient’s teeth and remain in place for about two minutes.
This gives the patient a temporary model of their future smile. It is a plastic prototype that can be refined and improved until the ideal result is achieved. For example, after wearing it for a few days, the patient may decide that the front teeth should be slightly enlarged, while the side teeth should be reduced. We make adjustments promptly: we add composite material or remove excess material using a drill. After some time, the patient may change their mind—and we adapt the shape again. The process is repeated until the patient is completely satisfied.
Once the model is approved, final impressions are taken from it, and work on the teeth begins. Thanks to the plastic model and an understanding of the thickness of the future veneers (approximately 0.5 mm), the dentist can precisely determine where to grind the enamel and to what depth, and where it can be left untouched.
Here’s how it’s done: we drill into the plastic surface to the required depth, then remove it. If the tooth remains intact, no grinding is needed. If the material is completely removed, that area needs to be ground down. After final preparation, impressions are taken again.
Both models obtained (before and after preparation) are sent to the laboratory, where ceramic veneers are fabricated based on them, precisely replicating all changes approved by the patient. Then, all that remains is to carefully bond them in place.
