Teeth filling

Beauty begins with health. With tooth filling, we not only mask defects, but also limit the spread of tooth tissue damage, restore functionality, and provide peace of mind and confidence.
For high-quality treatment, we use diagnostics that are fully available in our clinic, including orthopantomograms and CT scans with artificial intelligence, and we treat teeth under a microscope for accuracy and reliability. Fillings reproduce the color of the tooth and the transparency of the enamel and are visually indistinguishable. But most importantly, we ensure health.

Dental filling installation – simple, reliable, affordable

Filling teeth is one of the most popular procedures in dentistry. Enamel damage, caries, microcracks, and other defects can all be effectively eliminated with regular fillings if treated in a timely manner.

It is important to remember that tooth enamel is the only tissue in our body that cannot regenerate on its own. Therefore, even caries at the stain stage, if left untreated, can lead to complete destruction and, as a result, tooth loss.

At the same time, timely tooth filling allows you to preserve its structure and prevent further destruction for many years.

The therapists at Club 32, a family dental clinic in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, have countless successful filling cases for patients of all ages in their portfolio.

We practice an individual approach to filling – for each patient, we develop a unique treatment plan that allows us to place a filling on a tooth, taking into account the specifics of the clinical situation, wishes, and at an affordable price. In addition, you can pay for filling in installments and without overpaying.

We do everything to make your treatment effective, affordable, and comfortable.

Types of dental fillings

Modern dentistry offers several types of filling materials, ranging from budget to highly aesthetic. Here are the main types:

Composite fillings

The most commonly used material. Composites consist of synthetic resin with fillers, have good strength, and are easily color-matched to the natural shade of the tooth.

Advantages:

  • Highly aesthetic — suitable for front teeth;
  • Sufficient strength for chewing loads;
  • Possibility of tooth restoration in one visit

Disadvantages:

  • Material shrinkage possible over time;
  • Absolute dryness is required in the installation area;
  • May darken slightly over time

Optimal: for front and side teeth with moderate caries.

Cement fillings

Cements are mainly used as a temporary material or lining. In some cases, they are used as permanent fillings, most often on back teeth with low stress.

Advantages:

  • Affordable price;
  • Easy to install;
  • Good marginal fit

Disadvantages:

  • Fragility and low wear resistance;
  • Not suitable for long-term use with active chewing loads;
  • Limited aesthetics

Optimal: as a temporary solution or as a base for permanent restoration.

Photopolymer fillings

This is a type of composite filling that hardens under the action of an ultraviolet lamp. They allow the dentist to precisely control the shape of the filling before its final polymerization.

Advantages:

  • Excellent aesthetics;
  • Versatility — can be used for all groups of teeth;
  • Durable and long-lasting results when installed correctly

Disadvantages:

  • Higher cost of filling teeth compared to cement;
  • Possible shrinkage if the protocol is not followed

Optimal: a universal option — from aesthetic restoration to the treatment of deep caries.

Glass ionomer fillings (GIF)

A dual-action material: chemical adhesion to dental tissues and fluoride release, which reduces the risk of secondary caries.

Advantages:

  • Chemical bond with tooth tissue;
  • Fluoride release — caries prevention;
  • Easy to use, especially in children. What's more, there are different color options. This turns filling baby teeth into an exciting game

Disadvantages:

  • Average strength;
  • Limited color range;
  • Less durable compared to composites

Optimal: for baby teeth, in pediatric dentistry, and as a temporary material for adults.

The final price of treatment depends on both the type of filling and the condition of the tooth (teeth) on which it is placed.

Stages of dental filling placement

Filling placement is a clearly structured process that includes several mandatory stages. The service life of the filling and the patient's comfort depend on their correct execution:

  • Diagnosis and anesthesia
  • First, the dentist conducts an examination and, if necessary, takes an X-ray. This helps to assess the depth of the damage. Local anesthesia is used for deep caries or increased sensitivity
  • Removal of affected tissue
  • The dentist carefully cleans the tooth cavity, removing damaged enamel and dentin. It is important not to affect healthy tissue in order to preserve the strength of the tooth
  • Forming the cavity for the filling
  • The dentist shapes the cavity to ensure that the filling is securely fixed in place. The natural anatomy of the tooth is preserved
  • Isolation and etching
  • The tooth is isolated from saliva using a rubber dam or cotton rolls. Then the inner surface is treated with a special gel for better adhesion to the filling material
  • Applying adhesive and filling material
  • Adhesive is applied to the etched surface—it ensures a strong bond between the tooth structure and the filling. Then the filling material is applied in layers, each layer being polymerized with a lamp
  • Shaping and polishing
  • After the filling is complete, the dentist adjusts the bite and polishes the surface. This reduces the risk of plaque and ensures comfort when chewing

The experienced dentists at Club 32 use only modern equipment and materials, which allows them to perform fillings quickly, comfortably, painlessly, and at an affordable cost.

Indications and contraindications for dental fillings

Indications for the procedure:

  • Primary caries at any stage
  • Secondary caries
  • Mechanical damage to the enamel
  • Loss of an old tooth filling
  • Aesthetic defects
  • Expiration of the guaranteed shelf life of the filling

Patients usually overlook the last item on this list. And in vain. Naturally, everyone wants to get a filling and forget about it forever. But, unfortunately, this is impossible.

Here is a table showing the service life of fillings guaranteed by manufacturers, as well as their possible post-warranty service life

We strongly recommend replacing fillings immediately after the warranty period expires. This will protect you from secondary caries, further destruction of natural tooth tissue, and the invasive intervention that is inevitable in such cases.

If the filling was placed on a tooth after endodontic treatment (root canal filling after pulpitis), then such a tooth must be covered with a crown within 5 years.

Contraindications:

  • Acute inflammation in the tooth area
  • Allergy to materials
  • Deep damage requiring prosthetics

A filling can only be placed on a tooth after a full diagnosis.

Features of dental care after filling

After tooth filling, it is important to follow the doctor's recommendations:

  • If a temporary filling has been placed, avoid eating for an hour
  • Brush your teeth regularly and use dental floss
  • Visit the dentist 1-2 times a year for preventive care

It is also important to make sure that the filling does not change color, as this may be a symptom of secondary caries. At the first signs of discomfort, you should consult your doctor.

If you need to have your teeth filled, welcome to Club 32.

You will be pleasantly surprised by our prices for dental fillings, the professionalism of our doctors, and our service.
