A follow-up X-ray is taken to ensure that the filling has been done correctly and that the canals are completely sealed. The dentist then restores the crown of the tooth with a photopolymer filling.
It is indicated for inflammation or necrosis of the pulp, as well as for cysts, periodontitis, or deep caries. Indications include pain when biting, sensitivity to hot foods, swelling, or fistula. Contraindications are rare, but may include root destruction, inability to access the canal, severe somatic diseases, as well as poor hygiene and low patient motivation.
Root canal treatment requires a special approach. It is also important that endodontic canal treatment is performed under anesthesia, which makes the procedure completely painless.
After root canal treatment at the clinic, the patient should avoid chewing on the treated tooth until it is fully restored. In the first few days, discomfort is possible, especially when biting, and after filling, a feeling of pressure. This is normal!
In addition, we strongly recommend that you maintain good hygiene, use antiseptic rinses, and do not ignore follow-up visits. If swelling or pain occurs, you should contact us immediately.
It is also important to remember that, according to official medical protocols, after endodontic treatment, the tooth must be covered with a crown within 5 years. This dramatically increases the chances of preserving it for life.
