High-quality root canal filling – a guarantee of tooth preservation
Root canal filling is the final and one of the most important stages of endodontic treatment. The health of the jaw and the preservation of the tooth for many years to come depend on the reliability of such filling. Root canal sealing, which is mandatory in the treatment of pulpitis, may also be required in other clinical situations. For example, after tooth trauma, crown fracture, or the appearance of deep cracks.
Root canal filling involves the thorough isolation and hermetic sealing of the canals with special materials after the removal of the affected nerve and their mechanical treatment.
The purpose of this procedure is to block infectious agents from accessing the internal tissues of the jaw. If the canal filling is not done properly, reinfection, pain, inflammation, a cyst at the top of the tooth root, or even tooth loss may occur.
That is why the therapists at Club 32, a family dental clinic in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, pay special attention to the procedure of placing fillings in the root canals of teeth. Our specialists perform such procedures almost every day and therefore have countless successful cases of sealing dental canals for patients of all ages in their portfolio.
We practice an individual approach – we develop a unique treatment plan for each patient, allowing us to fill tooth canals taking into account the specifics of the clinical situation and at an affordable cost. In addition, you can pay for fillings in installments and without overpaying.
We do everything to ensure that your treatment is effective, affordable, and comfortable.
Stages of cleaning and filling tooth canals
Anesthesia and isolation of the tooth with a rubber dam
First, local anesthesia is administered so that the patient does not feel any pain. Then the tooth is isolated with a special latex film called a cofferdam. It protects the treatment area from saliva and bacteria.
Creating access to the root canals
The dentist carefully opens the crown of the tooth and creates access to the pulp chamber and canal openings.
Removing the pulp
If the pulp is still alive, it is completely removed from the canals using hand or mechanical instruments.
Mechanical and antiseptic treatment
The canals are thoroughly cleaned, enlarged, and rinsed with antiseptic solutions to remove tissue debris and destroy bacteria.
Accurate determination of canal length
In order to reach the top of the root and treat it completely, the dentist must use an apex locator, an electronic device that accurately determines the length of the canal. This prevents both underfilling and material from extending beyond the root.
Drying and cleanliness control
The inner surfaces of the canals are dried with paper sticks, after which the dentist checks for any remaining moisture or contamination.
Filling the canals
After preparation, the canals are filled with special materials — gutta-percha points, pastes, or thermoplastic material, depending on the situation.
Seal integrity check
A control X-ray is taken to ensure that the filling has been done correctly and that the canals are completely sealed.
At our dental clinic, located in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, we use only modern equipment and the highest quality materials for endodontic treatment, and each stage of treatment is performed under magnification and with careful quality control. We can provide you with high-quality root canal filling at an affordable price.
Root canal filling techniques
In modern dentistry, there are several methods of filling canals. During treatment, the doctor chooses the one that is best suited for the case. The following factors are taken into account: the overall clinical situation, the anatomy of the tooth, and the severity of the inflammatory process:
- Cold lateral condensation of gutta-percha. This is a classic and still widely used method. The dentist inserts the main gutta-percha pin into the canal and then compacts it with lateral pins using a special instrument. The method is simple, affordable, and suitable for most standard clinical cases
- Hot vertical condensation of gutta-percha. This allows the softened material to be evenly distributed along the entire length of the canal, tightly adhering to its walls. This ensures tightness and filling of even the smallest branches and microspaces
- Single Cone System. Used for simple root canal anatomy. The method is based on the insertion of a single, precisely selected cone covered with paste and is suitable for situations where the canal is straight and well prepared
- Thermofil, Thermafil, and similar technologies. These methods involve the use of preheated plastic pins coated with gutta-percha. Due to their high fluidity and adaptability, they are particularly effective for filling complex and curved canals
- Bioceramic materials. These are modern filling compounds with high biocompatibility and antiseptic properties. They are recommended for retreatment, chronic inflammation, or in cases where maximum sterility and durability of the filling are required
At Club 32, we select the filling method individually, depending on the results of the diagnosis, the number and shape of the roots, and the degree of inflammation.
For example, for filling a tooth with 3 canals (most often the upper or lower molar), the optimal method is considered to be lateral or vertical condensation of gutta-percha. As for the price of the procedure, it is determined depending on the number of canals.
If necessary, we perform repeat endodontic treatment if the previous filling of the dental canals was not done properly.
Advantages of root canal filling at our dental clinic
The success and final price of endodontic treatment depends on the precision of the dentist's actions, their involvement and experience, as well as the quality of the materials used. At our clinic, we adhere to modern standards and approach each case with the utmost care. In addition, our therapists regularly undergo advanced training courses and use the most effective endodontic techniques.
We don't just treat teeth — we preserve them for years to come. To do this, we use digital diagnostics, work under magnification, use an apex locator, modern canal treatment systems, and high-quality filling materials.
We pay special attention to curved, narrowed, or previously treated canals. In such cases, a microscope, ultrasonic treatment, or repeat diagnostics with CT may be required. Our clinic has all of this.
In addition, we carefully monitor the tightness of each filling, as even a microscopic leak can lead to a recurrence of infection.
We use targeted radiography to evaluate the treatment results. This allows us not only to visualize the passage of the canal and the degree of its filling, but also to record everything in the patient's chart. Thus, you receive a complete treatment protocol that can be used for further observation or, if necessary, transferred to another specialist.
We guarantee European quality, affordable prices, and friendly service.
